Your guide to Satellite Washington

Satellite Washington is set in the Walter E Washington convention center, located right in the heart of the city and less than 20 minutes walk from The White House (plus, it’s just 10 minutes to China town where you can find some of the best Asian cuisine!).

As you are likely aware, Satellite showcases the latest technology for space and satellite communication, with well over 100 different companies from all over the world exhibiting. Within this blog post, we will provide you with information on planning for the event from a logistical perspective.

Transport

We do not currently recommend sea freight as an option for the US due to the backlog of shipments going into US based ports causing delays. Our suggested method would be air freight.

Shipping Requirements

We would recommend that you ensure your items are shipped by air by 11th March to ensure they get to the show within a good time. If you are reading this blog post past 11th March, don’t worry. Please get in touch with us for support on your options.

Think Expo Logistics will provide you full instructions on how to complete your paperwork and will guide you through the process from start to finish. For further information, please get in touch with us. We look forward to working with you in Washington DC.

Local Attractions

Locally to the Walter E Washington convention center, you have a range of attractions including:

  • The National Mall may appear to be a shopping center, but in fact, it is a park with several historical monuments including the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Nearby, the Tidal Basin reservoir is known for its blossoming cherry trees. A lovely spot to kill a few hours!

  • The DC History Center is owned and operated by the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., which collects, interprets, and shares the history of America’s capital. Founded in 1894, the Historical Society presents exhibitions, programs, and events in the DC History Center to celebrate the city's heritage.

  • CityCenterDC is a vibrant neighborhood development with a mix of condominiums, apartments, offices, public spaces, hotel, restaurants and luxury shops. If shopping or fine dining is your thing and you have some spare time (and spare $$$!) then definitely check it out.
